The Best Dining Out SXSW Style

The Best Dining Out SXSW Style Dining Out SXSW Style The 28th annual SXSW (South by Southwest Music and Media Conference) has begun here in Austin, Texas and we’re happy to host the world’s leading music industry event. Each year, over 47,000 people invade converge on Austin to attend music, film, and interactive events. The music event alone houses over 2,200 musical acts from all over the world. Plus, if you are lucky, you might see a few Hollywood celebrities floating about the crowds. After a day of listening to the coolest bands or keynote speakers, you may be wondering where to find the best places to grab some grub. Well, I have your guide to dining out SXSW style. 24 Diner (Lamar 6th Street) â€" Home to the fried chicken waffle, need I say more. A massive batter chicken breast that covers an entire brown sugar waffle. It is super delicious and perfect for any meal. The best part is, as their name goes, they are open 24-hours a day. Kerby Lane (Guadalupe Street â€" near UT) â€" By far, the best queso you will ever consume. (For the uninitiated, queso is melted cheese with tomatoes and peppers and it’s served with tortilla chips.). Get the Kerby Queso. It is a bowl of ooey gooey goodness and has a dollop of pico de gallo and guacamole in the middle. Served best with a short stack of pancakes or migas. Like 24 Diner, this Austin favorite will have your taste buds satisfied 24/7. Chi’Lantro Korean BBQ (Locations vary) â€" Korean, what? Yes, you heard right, and it is by far one of the top food trucks to visit in Austin. Spicy Fries are a must try. Covered in Korean peppers and garlic sauce, the french fry will never be the same. As they say, you can’t visit Texas without getting some good ole BBQ…Korean style. Bufalina (East Side) â€" Specializing in Neapolitan pizza and cooked in a brick oven that was actually imported from Italy, Bufalina is one of the most talked about pies in Austin. Did I mention that the mozzarella is made in-house and the menu changes daily? Buon Appetito! Odd Duck (South Lamar) â€" Open for lunch and dinner, this former Austin food truck, now restaurant, is home to many Austin foodies. The menu features culinary delights, such as fish tacos with bacon, a pretzel kolache, and even mustard seed tater tots. Open during the week until 10pm and weekends until 11pm. I hope you enjoyed my guide to Dining Out SXSW Style. Enjoy the music, the films, and your visit to Austin. But as the saying goes, ‘Welcome to Austin, just don’t move here.’ Kidding…kinda. Its a celebration of food and drinks all in one.
